Jaguar Truck Mayan Adventure Expedition
Aniversario

Spend part of your day outdoors exploring the natural settings of Progresso on an exhilarating tour that lets you bike, hike, paddle, and swim. You’ll climb aboard the Jaguar Bus and travel Progreso’s roadways to the Xcampo ruins and a beautiful local beach. During your tour, you’ll have the opportunity to mount a tandem bicycle so you can ride along the salt marshes and past sites where seabirds nest. As you roll into the Xcambo complex, you will see excavation areas within the thick jungle. You’ll arrive for an educational tour that gives you some insight into the Mayan culture. The area was, and it still is, known as a center of salt production and salted fish distribution. The fish were a very important protein source for the Mayans, and the salt had a variety of uses. Xcambo, which is situated along a Mayan trade route, became a rich settlement as a result of its industries. It traded with Chichén Itza, Uxmal, and Izamal. Its artisans also had a hand in its prosperity. They produced magnificent handcrafts, such as ceramics. Your bus tour continues along a coastal route to the white sand and waters of a local beach. While here, your guides will arrange an area where you can enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch, use a paddleboard, go swimming and relax.
